We are delighted to announce that Barst Partner Alexis S. Axelrad was elected Secretary of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) for the 2021-22 term. The announcement was made at AILA’s Annual Conference on Immigration Law, during which the 15,000+ member bar association also presented Alexis with its 2021 President’s Commendation for Outstanding Service to the organization. Alexis, who has been active in AILA since she began practicing law in 1997, also received this prestigious honor in 2008-2010, 2014 and 2019 and was the recipient of the 2020 Susan D. Quarles AILA Service Excellence Award.
